Rate the Book: Amazing!

Vague plot description:

Nazi Germany was a time and place of strict silence. It is here, however, that a young girl learns the true power of words.

Interesting characters:

Liesel Meminger, the character this book mainly focuses on, is very interesting. She has a strong thirst for knowledge and great sense of right and wrong that makes her an awesome protagonist.

What did you like about the book?

The style of the author is one that I’ve never seen anywhere else. His work always manages to captivate me, and The Book Thief was no different. Everything about it is totally unique, and I absolutely loved it.

Criticisms?

I just wish I could read it again for the first time. I have no complaints.

Favorite Quotes:

“Usually we walk around constantly believing ourselves. “I’m okay” we say. “I’m alright”. But sometimes the truth arrives on you and you can’t get it off. That’s when you realize that sometimes it isn’t even an answer–it’s a question. Even now, I wonder how much of my life is convinced.”

This quote is just one of many that show the author’s insight into human nature, something that I’ve always really loved about his work.

This book absolutely deserves to be on your top ten list. It deserves to be on every top ten list. This is my favorite book of all time.
